The Vegas Golden Knights will be without star winger Mitch Marner for Thursday's home game against the St. Louis Blues. Marner is away from the team as his wife, Stephanie, is due to give birth to the couple's second child.
This marks only the second game Marner has missed since joining the Knights. He previously sat out the team's first game following the Winter Olympic break in February.
Marner has opened the season on a tear, recording 12 points through 11 games. He enters Thursday on a seven-game point streak and has been held off the scoresheet just once this season.
Forward Alexander Holtz will make his season debut in Marner's absence. Holtz was recalled from the Henderson Silver Knights of the American Hockey League on Wednesday after a strong start that produced four goals and eight points in his first five AHL games, building on a successful preseason.
