Amazon announced Tuesday it will hire more than 3,000 full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees across Nevada for the upcoming holiday season. The local hiring is part of a national effort to add 300,000 new roles. According to the company, roughly 400 positions will be based in Reno, with the remainder spread throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

The company said the jobs offer competitive wages, a streamlined application process, and potential for long-term career advancement. Amazon also announced a $1.5 billion national investment to raise pay for core operations employees, increasing the minimum starting wage to $20 an hour and the average to nearly $24 an hour.

“A job can be much more than a paycheck. It can be a first step, a second chance, a new skill or the beginning of a career,” said Danielle Casey, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance. “When companies create that kind of opportunity at scale, the impact reaches far beyond the workplace.”

Tareq Wafaie, manager of economic development policy at Amazon, said the company is focused on long-term community impact. “When you’ve been part of a state for this long, you have a responsibility to think about more than the next hiring cycle,” Wafaie said. “We’re thinking about the workforce we’re building, the communities we’re part of and what Nevada needs to keep growing for the long term.”

New seasonal roles are posted on Fridays, and applicants may receive job offers quickly through the streamlined hiring process.
