Nevada Republican House hopeful Marty O'Donnell, known for his work as a composer on the Halo video‑game series, runs an online community dubbed “The Marty Army.” An Associated Press analysis of thousands of posts from 2022 through 2026 identified a pattern of racial slurs, attempts to downplay Nazi Germany and defenses of white‑nationalist conspiracy theories within the forum.

Former member Deacon Dameron described the atmosphere as more than a few “crazies,” saying the popular sentiment was, “Yes, slavery should be legal,” and noting he was banned after calling another user a “dork.” The forum, which also hosts gaming strategy discussions and a section on O'Donnell’s Halo work, saw some policy‑related chatter after he announced his 2024 congressional run.

O'Donnell’s campaign, represented by spokesman Keith Schipper, asserted that the candidate “has zero tolerance for hate” and that a staffer has been tasked with monitoring the site. Schipper said nearly 200 users have been banned “because of hateful rhetoric, including many of the people flagged by the Associated Press,” and reiterated O'Donnell’s “unequivocal” support for Israel and opposition to antisemitism.

The candidate, endorsed by former President Donald Trump, is challenging four‑term Democrat Rep. Susie Lee in the November 3 race for a Nevada district that could affect House control. In a broader GOP strategy, the party recently reduced spending in several congressional contests, including O'Donnell’s.
