The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for the southeast Las Vegas Valley on Friday after heavy rainfall hit eastern Henderson and Lake Las Vegas. The advisory was in effect until 3:15 p.m. after 0.50 inches of rain fell in a 30-minute span just after noon.
A weather service spokesperson said Henderson had received 0.75 inches of rain by Friday afternoon. The advisory warned of hazards including heavy rain, nuisance flooding, and wind gusts exceeding 40 mph.
"Be mindful of flowing washes in the area and flooded low water crossings," the National Weather Service said in a post on X.
The storms arrived less than two weeks after the remnants of Tropical Storm Rachel produced record-setting rainfall in the valley. Southern Nevada could see its first measurable rain on Halloween since 1987, when the valley received a quarter of an inch.
