Clark County warns after rabid fox attack in Las Vegas

Clark County officials are alerting the public after a rabid fox bit a person in a Silverado Ranch-area neighborhood earlier this week. The incident occurred in the 9300 block of Jeremy Blaine Court, near Interstate 15 and Silverado Ranch Boulevard, in a gated community on the west side of the interstate.

County spokeswoman Jennifer Cooper said Animal Protection Services was notified of the bite and is urging anyone in the area who may have had contact with the fox or was possibly bitten to seek immediate medical attention. She also asked anyone bitten to call 311 to reach an on-call officer with Animal Protection Services, noting that county buildings are closed until Monday.

Cooper confirmed the fox is deceased and there is no current threat to public safety.
