Warrants reveal details of fatal shooting during Las Vegas robbery

Arrest warrants issued Oct. 19 accuse brothers Anthony and Antwan Terry of involvement in the Oct. 15 robbery at Elevated Life on East Flamingo Avenue near South Pecos Road that left employee Reynaldo Rodis dead. Detectives allege the Terrys were part of a four-member crew that targeted the business, which houses a meditation room, sound room, barber shop and marijuana shop.

According to witness statements in the warrants, three men entered the business after 11 a.m. and tried to steal marijuana from the "sacrament room." After two men held employees at gunpoint, Rodis attempted to intervene. "The heavyset male threw Rey off his back and started to fight him," a witness told police. "The male in the black hoodie pointed his rifle at Rey and shot him once in the chest. The heavyset male asked, 'Why did you shoot? You didn't have to shoot.'" Rodis, 45, died from a gunshot wound to the torso, the Clark County coroner's office said.

Surveillance footage showed Anthony Terry and two unidentified men entering at 11:28 a.m., with Anthony Terry appearing to be on FaceTime with his brother. Antwan Terry remained outside on the phone. Police said one suspect produced an AR-style handgun, forced an employee to sit down and filled a trash bag with marijuana. A detective wrote that Anthony Terry raised his hands in front of a camera in what appeared to be a ploy to disguise his involvement while he tried to disable cameras by kicking a power cord.

The warrants charge both brothers with open murder, four counts of first-degree kidnapping, four counts of robbery with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery. The day after the shooting, Metro received a 911 call from a woman who said "Duggy" — identified as Anthony Terry — was involved in the homicide and that she learned Anthony and Antwan were involved in a murder together and wanted to flee Las Vegas. During a search of the apartment Anthony Terry shared with his girlfriend, police recovered a hoodie he was seen wearing during the robbery. His girlfriend told detectives his demeanor was normal the day of the killing but he panicked the next morning and said they needed to leave.
