Las Vegas secured a 38‑33 victory at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, and two 2026 draft picks saw their responsibilities grow. Third‑round offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III made his first career start at right guard, stepping in as the Raiders searched for consistency on the line.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins praised the rookie’s low‑key performance, saying, “I always try to judge it by whether they are calm and collected in the huddle and whether they need a bunch of help at the line of scrimmage,” Cousins said. “He just did his job. … I didn’t really know Trey was there today. So that’s a good sign. But I think he did a great job, especially for his first start.” Coach Klint Kubiak added, “I was excited for Trey to get that opportunity,” and highlighted the support from teammates Caleb Rogers and Jackson Powers‑Johnson.
Cornerback Jermod McCoy also saw increased snaps after a non‑contact injury to starter Porter. The fourth‑round pick from Tennessee, who fell to the mid rounds, said, “I feel like I’ve been working real hard (both in practice and games), just trying to constantly make as many plays as I can to work my way on the field.” When he replaced Hezekiah Masses, McCoy noted, “There were plays I wanted back for sure. I’ll say that. I was for sure able to start getting into that flow state just being back out there (for an extended period).”
Both rookies emphasized the importance of team success over individual stats. Zuhn reflected, “It was my first start… Little sloppy, so a lot to clean up. But you never stop working. You just try to get that 1 percent better every day and that’s what we’ll do.” Their contributions helped the Raiders pull off the close win.
