The Las Vegas Raiders edged the New York Jets 38‑33 at MetLife Stadium, and the highlight came when return specialist Dylan Laube took a kickoff down the left sideline for a touchdown – the first kickoff return TD of the NFL season. Laube, who leads the league in kickoff return average, hit a speed of nearly 21 miles per hour according to the NFL’s Next Gen Stats.

A native of Long Island, Laube said the moment was special because he was back in his “true hometown.” After the score, he described his reaction: “I was going nuts. I was fist‑pumping. It was cool. My mom and dad were sitting right behind the bench so I saw them and gave them a little shoutout.”

Laube also contributed a big special‑teams tackle in the fourth quarter and nearly blocked a field‑goal attempt in the first half. He said his goal is to be the best special‑teams player in the league, and teammate running back Mike Washington Jr. praised his energy, noting, “That’s my guy. He’s special. He has a special talent and the ability to really accomplish something big in his career. But the energy he brings on a daily basis is so big for us.”

Coach Klint Kubiak called the play “really cool for him to have that moment,” and special‑teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis highlighted Laube’s preparation and the blocking that made the return possible, saying, “It’s pretty self‑explanatory… The kid’s really having a good year… At the end of the day, you can’t score a return touchdown without great blocking.”
