24 Hour Fitness founder Mark Mastrov is expanding his reacquired chain with a new premium concept called Founders Club, set to open early next year at 9200 W. Sahara Ave. in Canyon Lakes Plaza. The 45,000-square-foot facility occupies the space previously held by an Ashley furniture store at the northeast corner of Sahara Avenue and Fort Apache Road, where a "Coming Soon" banner was installed Friday.

The $10 million investment marks a significant expansion for the brand, which currently operates only one Southern Nevada location in Summerlin after closing eight valley gyms during its 2020 bankruptcy. Mastrov, who launched the company in 1983 and sold it in 2005, teamed with LongRange Capital to reacquire the chain this past January for what he described as "a lot less" than the $1.68 billion sale price two decades earlier.

Founders Club will feature standard amenities including free weights, cardio machines, a turf area, group fitness studio, and juice bar. The gym distinguishes itself with a recovery lounge offering hyperbaric chambers, massage chairs, and red-light saunas; a medical spa providing IV therapy; a specialized glute and lower-body training area; a DJ booth; and a "posing room" with mirrors for members to watch themselves flex.

Pre-opening membership rates range from approximately $60 to $100 per month. A news release described the concept as "designed for people who want to get after it, where they can train, recover and stay a while." The Summerlin location has already undergone a $1.5 million remodel since Mastrov's return, and he indicated his team is evaluating two or three additional valley sites.
