Voting is underway for the Nevada Preps boys Athlete of the Week, recognizing standout performances from the week of Oct. 19-24. The poll features four nominees from football, cross country, and soccer.
The nominees include a senior Sacramento State commit who rushed for three touchdowns, recorded three long kick returns, and intercepted a pass on defense to lead his team to a 56-17 victory in the Superintendent’s Cup DI championship game. A junior cross country runner won the local title at the Faith Lutheran Harvest Fest Invitational with a time of 16 minutes, 29 seconds, finishing second overall and helping his team place fourth.
A senior soccer midfielder scored three goals and added an assist in an 8-0 win over Cimarron-Memorial, capping a regular season in which he totaled 15 goals. Rounding out the group is a freshman quarterback who threw five touchdown passes in a 71-23 win in the DI ninth-place game.
