The Las Vegas Raiders ended a four-game skid with a victory over the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, bringing their record to 4-4. The win came despite New York outgaining Las Vegas with 439 yards from scrimmage.
The Jets held a significant possession advantage in the first half, nearly doubling the Raiders' time with the ball. Las Vegas flipped the script in the second half, however, mounting lengthy, meticulous scoring drives that kept the New York offense off the field.
Rookie running back Mike Washington Jr. received the first-quarter carries, with Ashton Jeanty noting he had been informed this week that Washington had earned a larger share of the backfield workload. Trey Zuhn III started at right guard and Jermod McCoy saw playing time, while wide receiver Dont'e Thornton Jr. was inactive for the game.
Coach Klint Kubiak met with media following the road victory. The Review-Journal's Dominic Lavoie and Heidi Fang recapped the game on Vegas Sports Sunday, also covering UNLV athletics, high school football, and Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore's partnership with Comprehensive Cancer Centers.
Separately, attorneys for Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs, formerly of the Raiders, stated they possess "tangible evidence" disputing allegations made by three women regarding incidents during his time in Las Vegas.
