Authorities have identified the two drivers killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 15 near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway early Friday morning. The Nevada Highway Patrol said the three-vehicle collision occurred around 3:22 a.m. between mile markers 54 and 55.

According to investigators, a 2014 Hyundai Sonata driven by 30-year-old Keondranique Dyshae Young of Las Vegas was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes. The Hyundai struck a northbound 2025 Honda Civic head-on; the Civic was driven by 27-year-old Nicole Marie Klunker of Littlefield, Arizona.

The impact redirected the Honda across two lanes to the right, where it was then struck on the front left side by a 2024 Freightliner tractor-trailer before catching fire. The Hyundai came to a rest after the initial collision. Both Young and Klunker were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Freightliner was not injured and remained at the scene. The Southern Nevada Highway Patrol Command is handling the investigation, which marks the agency's 53rd fatal crash investigation this year, resulting in 59 fatalities.
