Area15 developer pitches Las Vegas NBA arena within city limits

The family-owned real estate firm Fisher Brothers, developer of the Area15 immersive entertainment complex, is pitching a proposal to build an NBA-ready arena on land it owns between Area15 and Palace Station, just off Interstate 15. The company owns 80 acres in Las Vegas, with 30 acres already developed into Area15, and sees the remaining space as part of its master plan for multifamily and entertainment development.

Fisher Brothers CEO Winston Fisher said the proposed arena would seat between 18,000 and 20,000 people and could be adjusted based on a bid group’s needs. He emphasized the vision of creating an urban entertainment campus active 365 days a year, inspired by developments like SoFi Stadium, with high-quality food, beverage, and retail experiences surrounding the arena.

Fisher said the company has submitted its arena proposal to the NBA and has held conversations with the three remaining finalist bid groups vying for a Las Vegas expansion team, though he did not name them. The groups include one led by Bill Foley and Jerry Colangelo, another by Nancy Walton Laurie and Bill Laurie, and a third featuring Marc Lasry and Steve Apostolopoulos.

Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley expressed support for the project, stating it lies within city limits along Rancho Drive and north of Meade Avenue, and calling it a premier development opportunity that would strengthen Las Vegas as a global destination for sports, entertainment, tourism, and economic development.
