Week 8 of the college football season arrives with a reshuffled national landscape after five of the AP Top 25's top seven teams lost in Week 7. The schedule features two ranked-on-ranked matchups as the season continues its march toward Las Vegas bowl season.

In the Big 12, 6-1 Houston travels to face undefeated Utah in Salt Lake City. Cougars quarterback Conner Weigman threw for over 300 yards and five touchdowns in a 35-32 win over Oklahoma State, while receivers Amare Thomas and Trent Walker each topped 100 yards. The Utes are 6-0 for the first time since 2015, when they won the Las Vegas Bowl. Houston leads the all-time series 5-0, including a win last season.

Ole Miss (5-1) visits Texas (4-2) in the first meeting between the programs since 2013. The Rebels rushed for 257 yards in a 31-3 win over Missouri, with quarterback Trinidad Chambliss accounting for four touchdowns. The Longhorns have lost consecutive games by identical 27-24 scores to Oklahoma and Florida, with Arch Manning throwing for 173 yards against the Gators. Texas leads the series 6-1.

Texas A&M (4-3) heads to Alabama after a 41-0 win over The Citadel sparked by 264 rushing yards. The Crimson Tide are looking to respond after back-to-back losses to Tennessee and Georgia. Alabama leads the all-time series 13-3 and has won the last two meetings.

Indiana (6-1) visits Michigan following the Hoosiers' first loss of the season, a defeat at home to Ohio State. The Wolverines edged Penn State 21-18 at home behind quarterback Tommy Carr, who replaced Bryce Underwood and totaled 83 yards of offense with a rushing touchdown. Michigan leads the historic series 61-11, though Indiana won the most recent meeting in 2024.
