Las Vegas police say they received a 5:34 a.m. dispatch call reporting a stabbing in the 6700 block of Del Rey Avenue, near Charleston and Rainbow boulevards. Officers arrived to find a man and a woman inside the apartment with apparent stab wounds.

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman, identified as 53‑year‑old Naima Ahmadi, was taken to a hospital with non‑life‑threatening injuries. Investigators later determined that Ahmadi fatally stabbed her husband before stabbing herself.

Ahmadi was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of open murder with a deadly weapon. The Clark County Coroner’s office will release the victim’s identity, cause and manner of death once the investigation is complete.

Police also noted that they responded to several other stabbing incidents across the city on Thursday, including reports in the parking lot of a West Imperial Avenue business and a double stabbing near Whitney Ranch Drive and Galleria Drive.
