Racing at the NHRA Las Vegas Nationals was put on hold Sunday after wind gusts reached 60 mph at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The stoppage delayed the start of the semifinal elimination rounds for the NHRA national classes, which had been scheduled for 3:15 p.m. for Top Fuel and Funny Car and 3:30 p.m. for Pro Stock Car and Motorcycle.

The interruption occurred during semifinal and final rounds for several lower-level classes, following the completion of the quarterfinals for the Nitro and Pro Stock categories. No rain had fallen at the track as of Sunday afternoon, though the region was under a thunderstorm warning.

NHRA officials are expected to attempt to complete the semifinals and finals later in the evening. Shawn Langdon entered Sunday's eliminations as the No. 1 qualifier in Top Fuel after leading the field through four rounds of qualifying.

Several championship storylines remain unresolved heading into the final rounds. Matt Hagan and Shawn Langdon lead the points standings in Funny Car and Top Fuel respectively, while defending Funny Car champion Austin Prock is looking to potentially clinch the 2025 world title at the event.
