Las Vegas Grand Prix circuit prep continues less than 1 month out from race weekend

With the 2026 Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix less than a month away, crews continue setting up the 3.8-mile circuit on public roadways including Las Vegas Boulevard, Koval Lane, Harmon Avenue and Sands Avenue. Work has progressed over the last several weeks and will expand to pedestrian bridges above the Strip starting next week.

Multiple pedestrian bridges will be enclosed nightly to block free views of the track during race weekend, Nov. 19-21. Between midnight and 9 a.m. on Nov. 2-4, the bridge over Sands between Wynn and the Venetian and the bridge over Las Vegas Boulevard between Caesars Palace and the Vanderpump Hotel will close. From Nov. 5-9 during the same hours, the Venetian pedestrian bridge and the Planet Hollywood to Cosmopolitan bridge over the Strip will be closed.

Overnight lane reductions are also scheduled for track lighting installation. Through Friday, Harmon Avenue between Las Vegas Boulevard and Koval Lane will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Through Friday and again Nov. 2-12 Sunday through Friday, Sands Avenue between Las Vegas Boulevard and Manhattan Street will see similar reductions from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Las Vegas Boulevard will be down to one lane each direction nightly between midnight and 9 a.m. through Friday, with additional southbound lane reductions in front of Fashion Show Mall on Nov. 2 and Nov. 5.

The two southbound lanes of Las Vegas Boulevard closest to the Bellagio and the sidewalk in front of the resort remain closed 24/7 through late December for construction, hosting and removal of the Bellagio Fountain Club hospitality space. Meanwhile, The Boring Company's Vegas Loop extension remains on track to open in time for the Grand Prix weekend.

Formula One announced Wednesday it will return to Las Vegas on Nov. 20, 2027, the same week as this year's race. The organization's leaders are also considering contingency options if the war in the Middle East does not end before scheduled races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi in November and December. Las Vegas Grand Prix and its parent company previously agreed to pay over $3 million to settle a class action lawsuit stemming from a loose water valve cover during a 2023 practice session.
