Las Vegas bourbon maker looks to sell land for more than $8M

Nevada H&C Distilling Co., a Las Vegas bourbon maker, has listed a 3.65‑acre parcel near the Arts District for $8.2 million through Colliers. The narrow lot sits at the northwest corner of Industrial Road and Wyoming Avenue, bordered by railroad tracks and a nearby flyover ramp, and is largely vacant aside from a few graffiti‑covered buildings.

The company bought the site from the city in 2021 for just over $4 million, after an earlier online auction received no bids. It secured city approval in 2023 for an 11,615‑square‑foot facility, but co‑owner Jonathan Hensleigh says a national distribution deal now requires a much larger space, so the property is “just not right for us now anymore.” Broker Mike Mixer added, “They didn’t want to build a new facility that was already going to be too small.”

Nevada Distilling currently operates out of a roughly 3,900‑square‑foot space on Mesquite Avenue and is seeking to lease a nearly 30,000‑square‑foot complex. The firm produces Smoke Wagon bourbon and rye, as well as Silver Dollar American Vodka, using a contract distiller in Indiana. Hensleigh notes that bourbon needs a humid environment, warning that in Southern Nevada “you end up with syrup in those barrels.”

City officials approved the 2021 sale at an appraised value of $4,135,000 to spur economic development and job creation. A Colliers brochure describes the infill site as offering a “compelling path toward higher-and-better-use,” including hospitality or mixed‑use concepts, and cites its potential as a tourist destination.
