Ashton Jeanty, Raiders rushing offense struggles yet again

Ashton Jeanty accounted for 27 rushing yards on 10 carries in the Las Vegas Raiders' 45-17 loss to the New England Patriots. He was considered questionable to play due to a flare-up of foot pain but suited up and also added three receptions for 50 yards, including a 31-yard gain in the fourth quarter.

Jeanty said he was not discouraged by playing through injury, stating, 'I wouldn’t say it’s discouraging … Obviously, you would like to not have these things holding you back, but I don’t really look at it like that. Just got to play better. … It doesn’t matter the circumstance.' He added, 'You’re never going to play feeling 100 percent. At the end of the day I just want go out there and do my best for my teammates and whatever it takes.'

The Raiders' rushing offense gained only 38 yards on 18 carries for an average of 2.1 yards per attempt, weakening their league-worst mark. Jeanty has not exceeded 100 rushing yards since Week 1, totaling 189 yards on 65 carries (2.9 yards per carry) since his 102-yard effort against the Miami Dolphins. Coach Klint Kubiak said he abandoned the run game too early, stating, 'Overall today, we were playing from behind all day. It became a passing game and it didn’t need to be that way. I abandoned the run game too early and didn’t give it a chance to get going.'
