What began as a few Halloween decorations on a front lawn at a home in North Las Vegas has grown into an annual tradition for the Kirby family. Located at 1929 Little Bow Avenue near Centennial Parkway and Camino Eldorado, the family adds new elements each year while keeping some staples in place due to wind conditions.
Marjolinjn and Robert Kirby say they update the display annually based on their feelings and new purchases, sometimes rearranging items as their vision evolves. Robert, who works in construction, helps with the setup of colorful and spooky items on the lawn, noting his skills come in handy during the process.
This year’s display includes pumpkins, pop-up skeletons, and movie-themed tributes such as Killer Clowns, Beetlejuice, and Chucky. Robert said his favorite item is the creepy, crawly spider on the front lawn, while Marjolinjn highlighted the Beetlejuice setup as her favorite part.
The Kirbys emphasize that the outdoor display is open to the public, especially as Halloween approaches. They also host a larger Christmas display in December for the community. As Marjolinjn put it, 'It's Halloween; everyone's entitled to one good scare.'
