Five UNLV players reached double figures Saturday as the Runnin' Rebels pulled away for an 88-79 victory over Samford at the Thomas & Mack Center. Cam Miles led the team with a game-high 20 points, while Tyrin Jones and Sebastian Mack each contributed 17 points.
UNLV secured the win by outscoring the Bulldogs 16-7 over the final 7:52 of the game. The victory follows the Rebels' season-opening win over Northern Arizona earlier in the week.
Mack's performance continued a strong start to the season after he scored 31 points in the opener against NAU, marking another step in his return to Las Vegas where he played high school basketball at Coronado. Jones, a 6-10 sophomore shot blocker, has emerged as a dynamic talent for the Rebels despite playing last season with a major shoulder injury.
