Balanced attack gives Golden Knights bounce-back win in Nashville

The Vegas Golden Knights secured a 5-2 victory over the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday, with five different players finding the back of the net. William Karlsson scored for the second straight game, while Jack Eichel notched his fourth goal of the season. Trevor Connelly, Brett Howden, and Tomas Hertl also contributed goals for Vegas.

Adin Hill made 25 saves and improved to 3-0 on the season. The Knights overcame an early deficit after Ryan O’Reilly scored for Nashville just 3:55 into the game off a turnover by Shea Theodore. Vegas responded with two goals during penalty kills, as Hertl tied the game at 6:46 and Eichel tipped in a pass from Brayden McNabb at 12:48.

Nashville tied it again in the second period when Adam Edstrom scored shorthanded at 8:45 after Hill was out of position. Karlsson restored the lead with a wrist shot from the top of the right circle with 2:16 left in the period. The Knights then pulled away in the third, with Connelly and Howden scoring insurance goals just 1:35 apart to make it 5-2.

Connelly leads all rookies with three goals, and Howden added an assist to reach four points in his last four games. The Knights improved to 56-30-13 all-time in the second game of back-to-back sets, benefiting from having played twice in 24 hours while Nashville was playing its first game since Saturday. The Knights’ power play remained ineffective, continuing its struggles after going 0 for 5 against Minnesota the night before.
