UNLV defensive lineman Andre Porter intercepted a pass and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, giving the Rebels an early lead over North Dakota State. The play helped UNLV secure a 13‑7 victory at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026.
Porter was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week, and redshirt freshman defensive lineman Kal-El Togafau received the Freshman of the Week honor for the second time this season.
Porter is the third Rebel to earn the conference’s defensive award in 2026, joining safety Tre Fulton and linebacker Cam Santee. Later in the fourth quarter he added a sack that forced a fumble, which resulted in a North Dakota State punt.
UNLV’s defense held the Bison to their lowest point total at home against a league opponent since shutting out Utah in 2007. The Rebels stopped several of North Dakota State’s fourth‑down attempts, intercepted three passes and recorded two sacks.
Togafau contributed six tackles, including one for a loss. He previously won the Freshman of the Week award on Sept. 7 after UNLV’s victory at Hawaii.
