Nevada Preps has released its four nominees for girls Athlete of the Week covering the period of Oct. 26-31. The poll features athletes from volleyball, soccer, and cross country who delivered standout performances in playoff and regional competition.

A senior opposite hitter from Legacy recorded 17 kills and three aces in a four-set playoff victory over Tech. She leads the Longhorns with 198 kills on the season. In soccer, a freshman forward from the Aggies scored two goals in a 3-0 playoff win over Shadow Ridge, bringing her season total to 10 goals and three assists.

On the cross country course, a sophomore from the Chargers won the 5-kilometer Desert League regional meet at Veterans Memorial Park with a time of 20 minutes, 44 seconds, helping her team capture the team title. A freshman from the Falcons won the Mountain League regional meet at the same venue in 21:07, also leading her squad to a team championship.

Voting closes at noon Thursday, and results will be announced Friday. Last week, Bishop Gorman volleyball player Aliana Breitling won the girls award, while Spring Valley cross country runner Owen Carlson took the boys honor.
