Raiders get positive updates on key injured players ahead of Rams game

The Raiders will host the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium with defensive tackle Tonka Hemingway returning to the lineup after clearing concussion protocol. Coach Klint Kubiak said Hemingway practiced in a limited capacity for a second consecutive day and will play, providing a boost to a run defense that has allowed at least 100 yards in five straight games.

Rookie running back Mike Washington Jr. is listed as questionable after a limited practice Wednesday followed by missed sessions Thursday and Friday. Kubiak expressed optimism about Washington's status, though his absence would leave Ashton Jeanty to handle the majority of backfield snaps. Jeanty is averaging 3.2 yards per carry, while Washington had been averaging 4.9 yards per carry in his first six games.

The Rams will be without several stars, including former Raiders receiver Davante Adams, and list star receiver Puka Nacua as questionable after a calf injury limited him late in the week. Meanwhile, Raiders wide receiver Dont'e Thornton Jr. will not be activated from injured reserve for this game, though Kubiak said he is getting "close" in his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Las Vegas enters the game having dropped three straight after a 3-0 start and will look to right the ship against a Rams team also dealing with significant injuries.
