Off-Strip hotel-casino temporarily suspends alcohol sales for second time in a year

The Oyo Hotel-Casino halted alcohol sales at 9 a.m. Friday, according to signage posted on the property. The move marks the second time in the last 12 months the budget off-Strip property has paused alcohol service.

The previous suspension occurred in October 2025 and lasted 10 days. That pause followed the end of Oyo's management agreement with Highgate Hotels, which held the property's liquor license, leaving the casino unable to sell or serve alcohol until new licensing arrangements were finalized.

The reason for the latest suspension was not immediately clear Friday. An employee at the property sought out a manager when asked about the halt but was told no one was available to speak to the press.

Clark County's Department of Business License, which oversees liquor licensing, is closed on Fridays, preventing an immediate inquiry into the status of Oyo's liquor license. The property also drew scrutiny in August over online hotel listings that a viral social media video suggested were potentially misleading.
