NV Energy has asked regulators to lower rates for Southern Nevada customers. The utility announced on Wednesday that it submitted a proposal to the Public Utilities Commission to adjust rates effective Oct. 1. According to the company’s release, the change would reduce NV Energy’s annual revenue by approximately $100.2 million.
A typical residential customer would see a monthly bill drop about 3.6 percent, or roughly $5.01. Across all customer classes, the average decrease is projected at 4.1 percent.
NV Energy adjusts its rates each quarter to reflect shifts in fuel and purchased‑power costs as energy and natural‑gas prices vary throughout the year.

The proposed adjustments break down as follows:
