No. 9 Sierra Vista beats No. 6 Doral Academy in 4A girls soccer — PHOTOS

September 29, 2026 - 12:24 am On Monday, the No. 9 Sierra Vista girls soccer team defeated No. 6 Doral Academy 2-1 at Doral Academy’s home field. Sierra Vista, ranked ninth in the Review-Journal’s Southern Nevada prep school rankings, improved to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in the 4A Mountain League. UNR commit Sophia Aragon contributed a goal and an assist for the victors. Fellow Mountain Lion Hunter Hughes added the second goal, while goalkeeper Kennedy Zirkel recorded six saves. Doral Academy’s lone goal came from Dasha Rosas. The Dragons, who entered the match with a 10-4-2 overall record and a 5-1 league mark, remain the defending Class 4A state champions. Sierra Vista will next face Western on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Doral Academy will meet Clark later that evening at 5:45 p.m.
