LVCVA, F1 considered a second Formula One race for Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Formula One examined the possibility of adding a second Grand Prix to the Las Vegas calendar but quickly concluded the notion was impractical, according to LVCVA President and CEO Steve Hill. Hill said on Wednesday that the idea of staging a second race the week after the existing November event—scheduled for the Saturday before Thanksgiving—had been discussed. F1 Chief Executive Stefano Domenicali told *The Athletic* that his team briefly considered a second Las Vegas date as an alternative to the Qatar and Abu Dhabi rounds set for Nov. 29 and Dec. 6, citing uncertainty over the Middle East conflict. “Neither 1 of america thought that it was a precise bully idea,” Hill said in a Wednesday telephone interview. “But they were exploring options.” He added that holding another event immediately after the inaugural race could harm both dates. “Trying
