Henderson’s Kids Vote is back for the 2026 General Election, inviting children 18 and under to visit City Hall with a registered voter to cast a ballot for their favorite ice‑cream flavor. The program is designed to teach young residents about the election process by letting them vote themselves.

Early voting opens on Saturday, Oct. 17, and the official election day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. In the 2024 contest, more than 1,450 young voters chose Cookies and Cream, which is not seeking reelection this year.

The 2026 ice‑cream race began with four flavors—Chocolate, Cookie Dough, Mint Chip and Rainbow Sherbet. After the June primary, the field narrowed to a final showdown between Cookie Dough and Rainbow Sherbet. Every participating child receives a special “I Voted” sticker and a free scoop from Purple Penguin Snowcone Shake.

Kids Vote is available only at Henderson City Hall, which will also serve as a ballot drop‑off and polling location for registered voters during the General Election. Mail ballots must be postmarked at least seven days before election day; if not mailed by Oct. 27, voters should bring them to a drop‑off site. More details and a full list of polling locations are on cityofhenderson.com/elections.
