The Las Vegas Raiders dropped their fourth consecutive game Sunday, losing 35-21 to the Los Angeles Rams at Allegiant Stadium. The defeat marked the fourth straight week the defense has allowed at least 30 points, tying a franchise record by surrendering 27 or more in five straight games.
The Rams dominated on the ground, rushing for 199 yards behind Kyren Williams and Blake Corum, who each topped 90 yards. With the run game controlling the clock, quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 23 of 29 passes for 195 yards and three touchdowns, while the Raiders generated little pass rush.
The game was effectively decided by halftime, with Los Angeles leading 28-6 after scoring touchdowns on four straight possessions. Linebacker Quay Walker pointed to technique and execution, saying, "It's about grown men getting off blocks and winning your individual battles."
Edge rusher Maxx Crosby acknowledged the unit's struggles, stating, "We're not playing well enough right now. Too many ups and downs. Starting slow. We have to find solutions." Coach Klint Kubiak added, "No one is coming to help us. We have to figure it out for ourselves as a coaching staff and players."
The offensive struggles compounded the defensive issues, as the Raiders were forced to throw excessively while playing from behind. Kubiak said the team must start faster and complement each other better to reverse the slide.
