Downtown Summerlin opens its holiday programming Nov. 13, bringing back outdoor ice skating at The Rock Rink, the Jupiter Express Holiday Train, Santa visits at the Macy’s Promenade chalet and a 40-foot tree in the Dining Arroyo. The rink operates through Jan. 18 with $22 skate rentals; appointments are encouraged. The train circles near the rink and tree for $7 per rider.
The annual Holiday Parade steps off at 6 p.m. every Friday and Saturday from Nov. 20 through Dec. 19, skipping Black Friday, Nov. 27. Organizers say this year’s procession is larger and adds a Polar Express-themed float, more snow flurries and an appearance by Santa Claus.
Santa’s Chalet is open daily Nov. 13–Dec. 24; photo packages start at $39.99 with early-booking incentives through Nov. 25. Pet photos are offered Tuesday and Thursday evenings Nov. 17–Dec. 17, and a sensory-friendly session runs Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon. Professional family portraits, with or without Santa, are available during the first and last operating hours Nov. 13–25.
Letters dropped at the chalet Nov. 13 onward will trigger a $1 donation per letter to Goodie Two Shoes Foundation, which provides shoes and essentials to disadvantaged children. The Giving Machine also reopens Nov. 12 for charitable gift purchases.
A one-night Hanukkah celebration with Jewish Nevada takes place Dec. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m., featuring a menorah lighting, entertainment, kids’ activities, cocoa and light bites. A menorah will remain on display in the Dining Arroyo from sundown Dec. 4 through nightfall Dec. 12. Las Vegas Ice Theater performs at The Rock Rink Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. and Dec. 6 and 20 at 10:45 a.m.
