UK rapper Yung Filly found not guilty of raping woman after Australian show

UK rapper Yung Filly, whose legal name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was acquitted of rape charges stemming from an incident after a performance in Australia in 2024. The 30‑year‑old social media personality was accused of sexually assaulting a 20‑year‑old woman following his show in Hillarys, a coastal suburb of Perth. On Friday a jury returned not‑guilty verdicts on three counts of sexual penetration without consent. The same jury, however, was unable to reach a unanimous decision on three additional counts of the same offence. Barrientos was also cleared of one charge of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of strangulation. Conversely, he was found guilty on two counts of assault. He will remain on bail until 21 August, when the court is scheduled to set a sentencing date. Prosecutors said they will determine the next steps regarding the hung‑jury verdicts, deciding whether to pursue a retrial on the unresolved charges. Yung Filly is known for his collaborations with the YouTube collective Beta Squad, appearances in the celebrity edition of *Bake Off* on Channel 4, and presenting roles on BBC Three programmes.
