Kent Police said an achromatic Ford Focus was travelling on Sole Street in Cobham, near Gravesend, shortly before 07:50 BST on Sunday when it collided with three cyclists. Two of the cyclists—a man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s—were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services, the unit added. A third cyclist was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to officers.
The next of kin of the deceased have been informed.
Two men, aged 20 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. A 19‑year‑old woman was also detained on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Kent Police said the road was closed while an investigation took place.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the vehicle or cyclists beforehand to come forward.
