Former Vice President Kamala Harris rallied with Nevada Democrats at the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 headquarters in Las Vegas on Wednesday, telling volunteers she expects tight results after Election Day. "It's going to be tight. It will not be easy, but we don't want to have any regrets on the 14th day about what we could have done these 13 days," Harris said. She was joined by Attorney General Aaron Ford, who is running for governor, and U.S. Rep. Dina Titus, who is seeking re-election.
Harris described the moment as a serious fight and criticized the current presidential administration as corrupt, callous and incompetent, though cheers drowned out the rest of her remark. Ford promoted his affordability platform and attacked Gov. Joe Lombardo, calling him a "folder" and a "doormat for Donald Trump" while presenting himself as a fighter unafraid of the former president. Harris praised the union's door-knocking operation, saying volunteers know every shortcut, dog and backyard in the community.
Republican responses were swift. Lombardo's campaign posted on X, "Failed Presidential candidate Kamala Harris is in town today. Don't forget to Stay Woke, Nevada!" The Republican Governors Association called the event a "questionable choice" for Ford's allies, accusing Harris and Ford of siding with criminals over hardworking Nevadans on issues ranging from the border to clemency for convicted killers.
The rally came during the first week of early voting in Nevada. On Tuesday, U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer rallied with Democrats, while House Speaker Mike Johnson stumped for GOP congressional candidates Carrie Buck and Marty O'Donnell in North Las Vegas. Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin was scheduled to appear with Lombardo on Thursday, and U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was set to rally with Rep. Steven Horsford in North Las Vegas on Saturday.
