Al Justin Carter, 24, of Las Vegas, was arrested on October 14 on a charge of coercion and enticement of a minor. According to a Department of Justice release, he allegedly persuaded and coerced a 13-year-old girl to create and send him a sexually explicit video in December 2024.
Carter reportedly told the victim that if she did not send the video, he would make public other sexually explicit videos he claimed to have featuring her. The FBI is investigating the incident.
If convicted, Carter faces up to life in prison, a $250,000 fine, and a term of supervised release. He is scheduled to appear for a detention hearing on October 20.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative launched in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse online.
