The bout was announced Wednesday by DAZN, which will televise the event in conjunction with TNT under their current partnership. Fundora, a tall and lanky puncher known for his methodical power, enters the fight with a record of 26‑1 and 15 knockouts. He captured the WBC belt in 2024 at T‑Mobile Arena, defeating former WBO champion Tim Tszyu in one of the bloodiest bouts in recent memory. Las Vegas has become a regular stop for the 28‑year‑old Coachella, California native, who has successfully defended the title three times in the city. In 2025, Fundora faced Chordale Booker at Mandalay Bay and later met Tszyu again at the MGM Grand Garden Arena before stopping former welterweight champion Keith Thurman, also at MGM Grand Garden, in February.
