The Las Vegas PRIDE Festival took place on Saturday at the Desert Breeze Events Center, offering music, food, vendors, and a celebration of LGBTQ+ culture. Organizers said the event promoted human rights, inclusion, and support for the community, with PRIDE President and CEO Brady McGill describing it as a space that uplifts everyone, regardless of identity.
McGill, who has been with the organization for 18 years, said the festival’s theme this year is 'Rise, Resist and Rejoice,' reflecting ongoing struggles for rights and the importance of visibility and inclusion. He emphasized that while the event feels like a party, it is also meaningful human rights work.
Attendees shared personal connections to the festival, including Timothy Hight, who has lived in Las Vegas for six years and said he loves seeing families attend and the growth in vendors, calling the openness and conversations beautiful. John Piermatteo, founder of Play Catch with a Dad from York, Pennsylvania, brought his nonprofit to the festival for the first time, offering hugs and affirmations to LGBTQ+ adults who lacked paternal support.
