Repeat sex offender sentenced for possession of child sexual abuse material

A Las Vegas man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on Wednesday for possessing child sexual abuse material on his electronic devices, according to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice. Max Milton, who had been under federal supervision after a prior conviction for coercion and enticement of a minor, pleaded guilty to a single count of possession of child pornography. Chief United States District Judge Andrew P. Gordon imposed the prison term and ordered Milton to serve 30 years of supervised release upon completion of his incarceration. In addition to the prison sentence, Milton must pay restitution to his victims and register as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act in every jurisdiction where he lives, works or attends school. Assistant U.S. Attorney Afroza Yeasmin prosecuted the case as part of Project Safe Childhood, the nationwide initiative aimed at combating the epidemic of child sexual exploitation.
