Raiders release former 1st-round pick, sign 2 Super Bowl champions

The Las Vegas Raiders released offensive lineman Evan Neal and tight end Chris Myarick from their practice squad on Monday. Neal, the No. 7 overall pick by the New York Giants in 2022, had signed with the Raiders a few days after being released by New York in August but was never elevated to the active roster. Myarick had been elevated twice this season, appearing in two games with eight offensive snaps and three on special teams.

The moves cleared space for the Raiders to sign offensive tackles Amari Kight and Darian Kinnard to the practice squad. Kight, 25, played for Raiders offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak when Kubiak held that role with the Seahawks last season and appeared in four games for Seattle before being waived during preseason due to injury.

Kinnard, 26, has been part of three Super Bowl champion teams. He was on the Kansas City Chiefs roster for back-to-back titles and then played with the Philadelphia Eagles when they won the following season. An All-American at Kentucky in 2021, Kinnard is one of only two players in NFL history to have been on three consecutive Super Bowl championship rosters, alongside Ken Norton Jr. He joined the Raiders after playing in all 17 games for the Green Bay Packers last year, where he made four starts in 20 career appearances.
