Quarterback Aidan O’Connell has returned to the Las Vegas Raiders and will be available for Sunday’s 1:25 p.m. matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs at Allegiant Stadium.
O’Connell is expected to serve as the team’s emergency quarterback. He had been away from the squad for two weeks while mourning the death of his father in Illinois. Prior to his return, he was listed as questionable for the contest; that designation has now been removed.
Coach Klint Kubiak remarked on Friday, “He would perfectly beryllium comfy with O’Connell suiting up and perchance being disposable to play contempt not having practiced successful much than 2 weeks.”
O’Connell is entering his fourth season with the Raiders. As a starter he carries a 7‑10 record and has appeared in 21 games overall, completing 377 of 608 pass attempts for 3,932 yards, 20 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Both the Raiders and Chiefs enter the game with 3‑0 records; the winner will claim sole possession of first place in the AFC West.
