Raiders lose linebacker to injury, add heft on defensive line

Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Brennan Jackson was placed on injured reserve Saturday after suffering a foot wound during Thursday's preseason loss to the Arizona Cardinals. To fill the resulting roster spot, the Raiders signed veteran defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi. Jackson appeared in three games for Las Vegas last season, contributing exclusively on special teams. He had been claimed off waivers after being released by the Rams before the start of last season. Fatukasi adds size to the middle of the Raiders' defensive line after being pushed around by the Cardinals in that contest. The 6‑foot‑4, 318‑pound tackle has played in 90 games over eight seasons, logging 64 starts. He was a sixth‑round selection by the Jets out of Connecticut and spent the previous two years with the Texans, although he spent most of last season on injured reserve with a hip injury. In his stints with the Jets, Jaguars and Texans, Fatukasi has accumulated 195 tackles, seven sacks and 28 tackles for loss.
