The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified Jacob Toroian as the inmate who died at the Henderson Detention Center on Sept. 29. Toroian, 49, was found unresponsive during a routine inmate check by corrections officers on that date.
According to the Henderson Police Department, staff attempted lifesaving measures but were unsuccessful. Toroian had been taken into custody on Sept. 28 on a failure-to-appear warrant related to a misdemeanor petit larceny charge.
The cause and manner of death remain pending, as stated by the coroner’s office. Police confirmed this was the first inmate death of the year at the Henderson Detention Center.
