New Mexico sues Epstein attorney and accountant, accuses them of hiding sex trafficking operation

New Mexico Attorney General Raul Torrez filed a lawsuit Wednesday against Darren Indyke and Richard Kahn, accusing Epstein's longtime attorney and accountant of concealing his sex trafficking operation. The suit seeks to prevent them from accepting any payments from Epstein's estate.

Torrez alleges Indyke and Kahn were aware of the sexual abuse of girls and young women at Epstein's Zorro Ranch near Santa Fe. Indyke worked as Epstein's attorney for roughly two decades, while both men have testified before a congressional committee that they did not know about the abuse.

Epstein died by suicide in August 2019 in a New York City federal jail while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. His former associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, is serving a 20-year prison sentence following her 2021 conviction on sex trafficking charges in New York.

Witness testimony at Maxwell's trial alleged that she and Epstein sexually abused women at the New Mexico ranch. The lawsuit marks the state's latest effort to pursue accountability in the case.
