Among smaller parties, the Independent American Party claims 85,560 members (4.05 percent), the Libertarian Party of Nevada has 14,099 members (0.67 percent), and other minor political parties account for 31,838 members (1.51 percent). The secretary of state’s office also noted that 363,876 voters are currently flagged as inactive under the state’s list‑maintenance procedures, which are carried out by county officials. Breaking down the inactive pool: 165,881 are nonpartisan (45.59 percent), 90,682 are Democrats (24.92 percent), 78,021 are Republicans (21.44 percent), 17,003 belong to the Independent American Party (4.67 percent), 3,938 are Libertarians (1.08 percent), and 8,351 are affiliated with other minor parties (2.30 percent). Inactive voters remain legally eligible to cast ballots but do not receive mail‑in ballots for any election. They stay on the rolls for two federal election cycles before possible cancellation, in line with the National Voter Registration Act. A county designates a voter as inactive after mailing an address‑confirmation notice and receiving no reply; if the voter also fails to participate in two consecutive nationwide elections, the registration may be revoked.
