Millions watch 'surreal' solar eclipse in UK and Europe Millions across Europe and the UK witnessed the most important solar eclipse since 1999 on Wednesday. For the UK, more than 90% of the Sun was covered by the Moon, whereas in some parts of Europe an uncommon full eclipse could be seen. BBC science correspondent Pallab Ghosh was in Burgos, Spain, and said helium got goosebumps from the spectacle.
