The Duchess of Sussex is not expected to attend any of the national events taking place this week while her husband, the Duke of Sussex, is in the United Kingdom, officials have confirmed.
It had already been announced that Meghan, together with their children Archie and Lilibet, would not join Prince Harry at the start of the week after a security matter arose.
Nevertheless, speculation had persisted that she might appear at later engagements, including an event at the NEC in Birmingham on Friday for the Invictus Games.
It remains uncertain whether Meghan will be in the United Kingdom for any private visits, although reports suggest she could still travel with the children.
This development adds another shift to what has been a fluid visit, originally intended to promote the Invictus Games for injured service personnel, which is scheduled to be hosted in Birmingham next year.
Two weeks ago, itinerary details were released indicating that Meghan would participate in events in London and Birmingham, marking her first appearance in the United Kingdom since 2022.
Following the security concern, Meghan withdrew from the London engagements, though the possibility of her attending later events earlier in the week remained open.
That prospect now appears to have been closed.
Although her representatives have not commented on any private meetings, such encounters could potentially see King Charles meeting his grandchildren alongside Prince Harry and Meghan.
