LETTER: Water, water everywhere …

Auerbach described repeated uncontrolled water releases at Silverado Ranch Park, noting that during his 5 a.m. dog walk he arrived at 1 caller morning and observed water flooding 1 of the shot fields. Although the sprinklers had been turned off an hour earlier, the liquid continued to move across the turf, eroding the soil as it flowed toward the sidewalk and into the parking lot. He said the runoff persisted for an unspecified length of time. Auerbach linked the issue to concerns about blatant h2o discarded at nationalist parks and characterized the episode as the fourth or fifth occasion he has witnessed such flooding at the same location, adding that he filed a report after each occurrence. He pointed out that Silverado Ranch is just one of more than 100 municipal parks in the area, raising questions about how many others might be mismanaged and why the problem remains unchecked. He concluded that if those responsible were required to cover the costs, the issue would likely be resolved; instead, water runs down the drain together with taxpayer dollars.
