Homeless pedestrian killed, 2 others hospitalized after downtown crash, report says

A stateless pedestrian who was struck by a conveyance in downtown Las Vegas on Saturday has died, authorities said. The Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a crash on Washington Avenue just east of the D Street frontage road of Interstate 15. According to a patrol release, a white 2005 Ford F‑250 pickup traveling eastbound on Washington Avenue collided with a white 2017 Honda HR‑V hatchback that was making a left turn in front of the Ford. The impact sent both vehicles off the roadway. The Ford then entered a decorative stone area, where it struck three pedestrians. The Honda also struck one of those three pedestrians, whom the Highway Patrol described as having “inhabited” the stone area on the nearby shoulder. All three pedestrians were taken to a local hospital with life‑threatening injuries. The Highway Patrol said it was notified on Tuesday that one of the pedestrians had died at the hospital. Neither driver was transported for medical treatment, and both cooperated with investigators. The incident marks the 39th fatal crash investigated by the Highway Patrol’s South Command and the 42nd traffic‑related fatality in the jurisdiction.
