The Golden Knights fell behind by three goals in the first period against the Minnesota Wild on Monday, a deficit they could not overcome despite a late rally. Matt Boldy, Max Shabanov, and Danila Yurov scored for Minnesota in a 5:07 span to build a 3-0 lead. Vegas got on the board when Rasmus Andersson scored his first goal of the season at 2:37 of the second period, assisted by Raphael Lavoie on his first NHL point.
William Karlsson then cut the lead to one with his first goal of the season, finishing a two-on-one with 10:35 remaining in the third period. Carter Hart made 24 saves for Vegas, while Jesper Wallstedt stopped 21 shots for Minnesota, including 11 in the final frame. The Knights were outshot 23-11 through two periods despite Andersson’s early offensive push.
Joel Eriksson Ek sealed the win with an empty-net goal for Minnesota. The loss dropped Vegas to 5-2-0 and ended their four-game winning streak. The team will continue their road back-to-back on Tuesday against the Nashville Predators.
